A three-day training workshop for human rights activists was held here which was organised by National Commission for Justice and Peace (NCJP) at Centre for Peace and Harmony in Faisalabad. The purpose of the workshop was to provide necessary skills to right activists for defence of human rights.
Twenty-two Muslim and Christian activists from Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Okara, Kamalia, Gojra, Khushpur and Renala Khurd actively participated in the workshop. The content of the workshop contained "Evolution of concepts of human rights, human rights and constitution of Pakistan, human rights and law & order situation, discriminatory laws and customs against women, democracy in Pakistan: challenges and solutions, fact finding & reporting and legal & judiciary system of Pakistan".
Nisar Barkat, director NCJP cherished the activists' struggle voluntarily for promotion and protection of human rights, and appealed to human rights activists to play their due role for peace, justice and social harmony.
