GCU gets accelerator

The GC University in Lahore has received a 2MV Pelletron Accelerator, which is in the process of installation at its centre for advanced studies in Physics being supervised by foreign and GCU experts. The accelerator has been purchased from USA by the funds of Rs 69.68 million provided by Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The machine is first of its kind, which is getting installed, in any educational institution of the country. It is versatile in its use and has multiple applications in materials science, environmental science, archeology, agriculture and medicine.
