Modalities of land acquisition for government employees in last stage

14 Nov, 2007

Efforts are being made to finalise the modalities of land acquisition with Capital Development Authority (CDA) and subsequent development of the much awaited Sector F-12 for the federal government employees.
Official sources told APP here on Tuesday that after acquisition of land by the CDA the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) will soon launch development work in the sector. They said that Phase-VI Housing Scheme would be launched in F-12. The prime minister has already accorded approval to Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation for allotment of plots to the employees.
The sources said that the Ministry of Housing and Works and the CDA would jointly work to open the sector for the government employees to meet the shortage of housing units in the federal capital.
This time the FGEHF has given the task to CDA for early acquisition of land for the sector to avoid the inordinate delay like acquisition of land for Sector G-14 by the district administration, the sources added. Over 6,000 plots would be developed in the new sector, which would be allotted according to a set criteria of the FGEHF, the sources said.
Under the criteria, quota-wise plots would be provided to federal government employees, general public, armed forces personnel, journalists and special people. The sources however said that in future first the issue of land acquisition should be settled with the land owners before launching the sectors to avoid delay in start of development work.
