Deferring its decision till the Supreme Court verdict on National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), the Accountability Court Rawalpindi on Friday adjourned further hearing on the application filed for withdrawal of 6 separate references of corruption and misuse of powers against Benazir Bhutto and her spouse Asif Ali Zardari till November 30.
The ARY reference against Benazir and Zardari came up for hearing before Judge Chaudhry Muhammad Younis of Accountability Court No 2 BMW, Cotecna, Warsis tractor, polo ground and assets references as well as Rehman Malik, former Director-General, FIA, and security advisor to Benazir reference of assets and misuse of powers came before judge Saghir Ahmed of court No 3.
Deputy prosecutor-general Zulfiqar Bhutta represented NAB who told the court that the decision on withdrawal of the cases cannot be taken as the NRO has been challenged in Supreme Court.
While giving his remarks in this regard, the Judge of the court said that decision of the court would come after Supreme Court gave any verdict on NRO, and also adjourned the case for its further hearing on November 30. Lawyer of Benazir Bhutto did not appear before the court.
