Senate acting Chairman Jan Mohammad Jamali has said that the people of Pakistan have a special place in their hearts for Afghan people and they are desirous of their progress and prosperity. Jamali was talking to his Afghan counterpart Sibghatullah Mujaddidi who called on him here at the Parliament House on Friday.
He said that frequent Parliamentary exchanges between the two countries would set the pace for better understanding and would be a step forward towards unity of the Muslims. Jamali informed the Afghan parliamentarian about the working of the Pakistan Senate, and also accompanied him on a tour of the Parliament building.
Recently dissolved National Assembly speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain welcomed the Chairman of the Afghan Senate. Speaking on the occasion Mujaddidi referred to the mutual values that bind the people of the two countries and said "these ties are bound to deepen further, especially in economic and trade and commerce sectors."
