Modern helipad atop of an under construction of first ever state-of-the-art 6-storey 65-bed Burn and Re-constructive Surgery Centre, Jinnah Hospital would be built to provide specialised treatment to burn victims in case of any emergency.
Project Director, Dr Muhammad Hassan told APP here on Sunday that in case of any emergency, helicopters carrying burn victims can take off and land on roof.
He said construction work of the centre equipped with latest gadgets and close circuit television network costing Rs 890 million is in full swing in Jinnah Hospital and added that fifth floor is in the last stage of completion.
He said that the centre was being established in collaboration with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal and Punjab Government with a prime objective of rehabilitation of burn victims with the help of multi disciplinary therapeutic approach.
He said the centre is to be completed by April 2008, will provide diagnostic and integrated therapeutic facilities required for reconstructive plastic surgery for deformities and other injuries, congenital and acquired defects under one roof.
He said Principal, Allama Iqbal Medical College and Jinnah Hospital Professor Dr Syed Sibit-ul-Hasnain is taking keen interest for timely completion of the project. Dr Hasan said special beds of international standard will be provided to patients equipped with ultra modern gadgets and controlled temperature for early healing of the burn wounds.
