Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) started achieving a major breakthrough towards the latest road communication sector after the construction work on the phased gigantic project of 600-kilometer long Kashmir Trunk Road from Muzaffarabad to Bhimbher started, official sources said.
The sources told APP here the other day that at the first leg of the plan, construction work of the highway has been started from Muzaffarabad to Bagh via Dheerkot. The first phase of the project will be completed within one and half year period. The project has been undertaken by the newly established Kashmir Highway Authority, Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
The sources said that existing and the proposed new farm-to-market roads in all the districts will be linked with this grand highway to be first of its own kind in AJK. The two-way road will provide most comfortable and safe travelling facility to the commuters.
