US consul general visits KSE

The Consul General of the USA in Karachi Kay Anske visited Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) on Wednesday. She had a meeting with Managing Director, KSE Adnan Afridi, Deputy Managing Director Yaqoob Memon and Director Shehzad Chamdia.
The KSE officials welcomed the Consul General and made a comprehensive presentation outlining the performance of the KSE. Heading the presentation, MD, KSE said "we are aiming to be a leading financial institution by offering an efficient, fair and transparent securities market in the region thereby earning the full confidence of investors".
"We are striving to provide quality and value added services to the capital market in an efficient, transparent and orderly manner that are compatible with international standards and best practices", he added.
The guest was also briefed about the current scenario of demutualisation of KSE and its future impact and benefits to members of the stock exchanges and investors at large, which is likely to be completed by the end of current year. The guest was also briefed about the future development plans, including promotion of Over the Counter Market, promotion of the Futures Contract Market etc which will improve and strengthen the market further.
Appreciating the performance of KSE the consul general thanked the MD, KSE for an impressive presentation and also expressed deep gratitude to the KSE management for hospitality extended to her. Referring to suggestion on relaxing US Travel Advisory, the Consul General said the US government and she herself would consider this matter, particularly in context of members of the board of directors of the KSE.-PR
