'No decision to black list 17 export companies'

The Collector, Sales Tax (ST), Federal Excise Peshawar, Najibur Rehman Abbasi on Friday said that no decision has been taken to black list 17 export companies of the province and termed press reports appearing in a section of the press as baseless and concocted.
Taking to a delegation of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) led by its President, Liaquat Ahmed Khan here at his office, Abbasi clarified that neither his department has taken any decision in this regard nor issued notices to any firm. The ST department, he said, does not believe in such steps and exporters should not worry on such baseless reports.
The president of the SCCI thanked the collector ST for his assurance regarding blacklist issue tormenting the exporters. The delegation also exchanged views on matters of bilateral interest with the collector.
Earlier, the President, SCCI, informed Abbasi about apprehensions of the exporters that adversely affected trade and business activities in the province. Present in the meeting were the Chairman, SCCI's Standing Committees on Income Tax and Sales Tax, Haji Muhammad Asif and Zahidullah Shinwari respectively.
