The returning officers in Multan have issued more than 200 nomination papers to national and provincial assemblies' candidates. The candidates who obtained nomination papers include PPP Vice Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Syed Asad Murtaza Gilani, Muhammad Ali Buccha former consultant to Benazir Bhutto, Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar former Punjab governor, former federal minister Alhaj Sikandar Hayat Bosan, Shaikh Tahir Rashid.
While PPP, PML-N and MMA candidates are still waiting for the green signal from their leadership to file nomination papers. Nawabzada Mansoor Ahmed Khan Chief of PDP said that his party would take part in elections if APDM decides to do so.
