Wheat prices were higher on the grain market on Tuesday as supply was tight and the news that some countries refused to take part in bidding the wheat import tender, dealers added.
On the cereal side, wheat rates went up by Rs 50 to Rs 1650-1665, the rise was the biggest in a single day rally, dealers said. Barley Sindh and Mardan lost the same amount at Rs 1350-1450 in process of trading, they said. Masoor Canada (low type) also shed the same amount at Rs 4400 while the better type maintained its overnight level, they said.
On the grams side, gram garda Punjab gained Rs 50 to Rs 2800 while the low type maintained its overnight levels. Garda dal Punjab inferior type lost Rs 100 to Rs 3190 and better type was up by Rs 35 to Rs 3250. Yellow peas Canada was sharply higher by Rs 150 to Rs 2625-2750, dal beetle low type did not move any side at Rs 3200 the best quality, however, shed Rs 50 to Rs 3300, they added. On the seed side, cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh new low type was up by Rs 5 to Rs 640 and better type was higher by Rs 15 to Rs 660, they said.
