Arms, ammunition, drugs recovered

Rawalpindi Police on Thursday recovered huge cache of sophisticated Israel, US and Czech made arms, ammunition and drugs in two separate operations and arrested one drug smuggler while two arms smugglers managed to escape leaving behind arms laden car.
According to details, City Police Officer (CPO) Saud Aziz told mediamen that police in Wah, during a routine search signalled a Corolla Car No LXM-8341 coming from Peshawar to Punjab to stop. Sensing the situation driver and other passengers of the car escaped leaving behind their car.
During search police found five 7mm rifles, three Kalashinkoves, one Ouzi 1.9mm rifle, one 16mm sniper shooting rifle (US Army Property), 3000 rounds of G-3 Rifle, 1000 rounds of 8mm rifle, 500 rounds of M16 rifle, 4200 rounds of 7mm rifle, 1000 rounds of 222 rifle and 2400 rounds of 24 bore, 2000 rounds of Kalashinkov and 250 rounds of 30 bore and ten magazines.
The CPO told reporters that all the arms and ammunition was snatched from US Army in Afghanistan and was smuggled to Pakistan for carrying out terrorist and disruptive activities. In another operation, the CPO said that Chontra Police chased the car No ICT-879 and found 80-kilogram charas, 2 kilograms opium from the secret cavities of the car. Police arrested one smuggler.
