Ibad felicitates President

Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan has felicitated President Pervez Musharraf on taking oath for the next five-year term. In a statement here on Thursday, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad said that President Pervez Musharraf fulfilled his previous responsibilities honourably and respectfully, and the country and nation was fortunate that he would continue to guide and lead as President during the next term.
The President, he said, led a failed state to a better position by extracting it from internal and external challenges and the country achieved an elated position in the comity of world nations because of his superior leadership, wisdom, sagacity and bold initiatives.
He fought against extremism and terrorism and established continuity of reforms in every sector, economic policies and development process. The Governor said that people of Sindh along with entire Pakistan had complete trust in the leadership of President Pervez Musharraf and would continue to support him in the journey of development and welfare.
He described completion of term by parliament and local governments, stability of democratic institutions, economic progress and independence of media as significant achievements of the President.
Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad pointed out that caretaker governments had come into being as per constitutional requirements and future government would come into being through just, free, fair and transparent elections.
He expressed the confidence that people would return capable, sincere and patriotic representatives to parliament through their vote whereafter power transfer would take place from caretakers to elected representatives in a democratic, prestigious and civilised manner.
The Governor said that credit of the efforts for progress and stability of the country and well being of people went to President Pervez Musharraf and his name would go down in the annals of history with golden letters.
