Thai shares up

Thai share prices closed 2.96 percent higher on Thursday in line with regional bourses, fuelled by gains on Wall Street overnight amid hope of an interest rate cut in the US, dealers said.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) composite index jumped 24.28 points to 844.80, and the blue chip SET-50 index soared 21.63 points to 621.31. Gainers overwhelmed losers 281 to 65, with 100 stocks unchanged on turnover of 2.5 billion shares worth 22.3 billion baht (665 million dollars).
