The Provincial Election Commission (PEC), Sindh, has rejected nomination papers of 27 candidates for minorities reserved seats in Sindh assembly as scrutiny process continued on Friday. According to official sources, 71 candidates had filed nomination forms against nine seats for minorities in Sindh provincial assembly.
Sources said that papers of 39 candidates had been accepted, while papers of five candidates were put on hold. They said that a large number of papers did not come up to the requirements and therefore were rejected by the concerned officers.
Papers of following candidates have been accepted: Lal Chand of Pakistan People's Party (PPPP), Nand Kumar Gokiani Pakistan Muslim League (Functional), Hidayat Masih PML(N), Ram Singh PML (Q), Pertab Singh Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Mahesh Kumar PML (F), Pitanbar Sewani PPPP, Stephen Asif Peter MQM, Rasheed Khan MQM, Herghun Das Ahoja MQM, Yaqub Mughal MQM, Lachman Das PML (F), Arif Masih MQM, Kanji Mal PML (Q), Mohan Mal PPPP, Diwan Chand MQM, Dervesh Kumar Mandhan Sindh United Party (SUP), Salim Khursheed Khokar PPPP, Mukhesh Kumar PPPP, Photo Mal Dileep PML (Q) Surendar Marchand MQM, Chettan Mal PML, Saleem Michal MMA, Nosheen Bano MMA, Saba Parvaiz MMA, Girdhari Lal NPP, Ashok P.
