Musharraf committed to boost Sino-Pak ties: envoy

Pakistan Ambassador to China in an interview has said that President Pervez Musharraf is deeply committed to further strengthening the Sino-Pak "time-tested" bonds of friendship and comprehensive partnership.
The interview of Pakistani envoy Salman Bashir appeared in today's Chinese media along with prominent display of news reports on President Pervez Musharraf's taking oath for another five years terms as a civilian President, his announcement to lift the emergency on December 16 and restoration of constitution as well as Chinese President Hu Jintao message of congratulation on the occasion.
"We deeply value China's constant and resolute support to Pakistan and in particular the great interest that the Chinese leadership and government has always taken in ensuring socio-economic progress and prosperity of the people of Pakistan", the ambassador said.
Meanwhile, the Chinese print and television channels gave prominent space to President Pervez Musharraf oath taking ceremony and address to the nation in which he vowed to lift emergency on December 16 and restoration of the Constitution. The Chinese media also published reports on President quitting as Chief of the army.
