Chairman, Pakistan Chemists and Druggists Association RA, P&C, R&D and diplomatic affairs committee, Dr Mustaq Noorwala, has suggested that Pakistan should make necessary arrangement for warehouse facilities in various countries for storage of Pakistan's pharmaceutical products
Talking to Business Recorder, he said that it has been observed that in certain export territories, Pakistan's pharmaceutical products, even having better quality and packing, are mishandled by the distributors thereby resulting in substantial loss, and market potential of the product remains unexpected.
He said that to create demand for Pak pharmaceuticals in such countries it is necessary for the exporters to establish their own marketing offices in such territories and get themselves registered with the concerned regulatory authorities of the importing country.
He said that this would enable the manufacturers and exporters to register their products in their own name instead of distributor's, and would pave the way for export of many new products for the territory.
He also suggested that common warehouse, godown in export territory be acquired for Pakistani pharmaceutical products. He noted that in certain export territories, like Central Asian States, Pakistani pharmaceuticals, due to non availability of guaranteed banking channels and absence of warehouse facility, are bound to limit their volume of business, whereas various Indian pharmaceutical companies have succeeded due to their business set-ups and economics of sale.
