A 250-member Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) delegation led by its President, Shahid Hassan Sheikh, on Friday left for India through Wagah to take part in five-day International Trade Expo (ITEX). The International Trade Expo is a global market place for entrepreneurs looking at networking opportunities with some of the leading names in the industry.
The delegation, which included provincial caretaker minister for Housing and Physical Planning, Mian Shafqat Ali, and leading businessmen from almost all the sectors, will also meet Indian Punjab Governor Sunith Francis, Chief Minister Perkash Chand Badal and others.
The delegation will also attend Pakistan Day parade in Chandigargh. Talking at the Wahgah prior crossing into India, Sheikh lauded the Federal Board of Revenue for establishing state-of-the-art customs facility at Wagah.
He said the visit would help increase bilateral trade between Pakistan and India. He said his organisation had always believed in exchanging trade delegations and exhibitions to boost international business.
