Pakistan has highest rate of breast cancer

The Pink Ribbon Campaign Pakistan and the Lahore College Women University are holding a Pink Ribbon Day to raise awareness on breast cancer among students on Saturday. Omer Aftab, Sameena Ali, Doctors Farogh Zahra and Bushra Mateen will speak on different aspects of the breast cancer.
The Punjab Chief Secretary's wife, Rukhsana Salman Saddique who is the Chairperson of Pink Ribbon Campaign Punjab, will be chief guest. Pakistan has the highest rate of breast cancer for any Asian country in the world. It is the most frequent malignancy in women, accounting for 38.5 percent of all female cancers.
Up to half - 43.7 percent - of all breast cancers are locally advanced leading to 40,000 deaths per year. Information available on breast cancer is very insignificant with only advanced cases of breast cancer being reported.
