Modest trading was seen on the grain market on Saturday as some commodity items moved both ways, some sharply against the overnight levels, dealers said. On the cereal side, juwar in the starting of the winter, low type gained Rs 75 to Rs 1375 and good type followed suit and picked up Rs 25 to Rs 1400.
Wheat old and new both types, however, were sharply down by Rs 45 to Rs 1625-1640, they added. Rising trend was seen on the rice side as the Irri-6 Sindh, low type rose by Rs 20 to Rs 1920 and best type rose by Rs 5 to Rs 1925. Irri-white low type was up by Rs 20 to Rs 1580 and better type was higher by Rs 25 to Rs 1590, they said.
Sugar low type was down by Rs 50 to Rs 2400 while the best type was unmoved at Rs 2500. Gur low type lost Rs 100 at Rs 1600, the good type, however, gained the same amount. Khandsari good type was higher by Rs 200 to Rs 3200 while the low type did not show any change at Rs 2400, dealers said.
