CDGL plans special schools

The Nazim, City District Government Lahore (CDGL), Mian Amer Mahmood has said that special school were being built in all towns of the city. He said this during a meeting of the CDGL held on Monday, said an official.
The nazim also informed the meeting about the construction of special schools at Gujarpura in Shalimar Town, Johar Town and Nishtar Town while the Lahore Development Authority has allotted seven-kanal plots in this regard. "Necessary steps would be taken for constructing these schools very soon," he added.
Further, Mahmood maintained that a cell has been set up at the office of District Officer (Special Education) for the employment of educated and skilled special people would be run in collaboration with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also said that amendments have been made in the Building Codes, under which it had been made mandatory to have wheelchair ramps and bathrooms for special people in all new buildings and commercial plazas.
