A comprehensive campaign to create awareness among people about traffic rules and regulation has been launched in the provincial metropolis. This was disclosed by Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG Malik Muhammad Iqbal here on Monday.
He said, during the last month education mobile units of traffic police have distributed 369 lectures in various schools and colleges, while provided 131 lectures to drivers at various bus stands of the city. It was also revealed that Chief Traffic Officer, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has constituted 10 special teams, which will provide necessary information to the drivers and common citizens about traffic rules in the city. In this regard special seminars have also been organised at Sahukat Khannum hospital and Engineering University.
To reduce the rate of accidents traffic police has started conducting driving tests of different bus companies and 351 drivers appeared in these tests out of which 156 drivers were declared unsuccessful.
