ECP to implement code of conduct: Dilshad

Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday said that ECP is committed to implementing its code of conduct during the election process. In an interview, he said the ECP has put ban on transfers and positing of the government officials during the election period and it is taking notice on the complaints received in this regard.
He clarified that ban on the transfers and posting is effective from November 20 and the ECP cannot take action against the complaints prior to this particular date. He said that ECP had received some valid complaints in this connection and notices have been issued to the relevant departments for further action.
To a question, the ECP secretary said that 430,000 transparent ballot boxes of international standard have been imported from China. He said it will be difficult to mark numbers on the ballot boxes because they would be transported to every nook and corner throughout the country.
He said that maximum efforts would be made to set up polling stations in governments buildings adding in some areas for that purpose, the candidates would be taken into confidence to set up a polling station at private place.
