Security forces regain control of Matta

In the ongoing operation of security forces in Swat on last Tuesday night, militant's suspected locations in North West of Puchaar were extensively engaged with artillery fire, says a press release of Media Information Centre, Mingora.
After establishment of checkposts at Bariam Bridge, security forces have further successfully advanced to Matta and occupied police station and regained control of the district administration. The people of Matta have greatly welcomed security forces and staff of the civil administration for re-establishing writ of the government in the area. Security forces advancing from Shangla have successfully established a check-post at Khawazakhela Bridge.
All these checkposts are manned in strength with troops of Frontier Corps, Frontier Constabulary, and local police. The area between Matta and Mingora is effectively patrolled round the clock.
The brave people of Swat have extended full support in the ongoing operation and displayed absolute confidence and trust in their armed forces in evicting the militants and extremists from the area. Security forces are extremely grateful and appreciate the active support, resilience and determination of the masses in the ongoing drive of the government against militants. Proud people of the valley have once again been requested to continue supporting security forces in rooting out militancy and extremism from the area.
