The Joint Committee of All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) and Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) has failed to finalise the draft of 'Charter of Demands'. The issue of deposed judges is said to be the main stumbling block between the members of the Committee.
The members of APDM tried their best to convince their ARD counterparts to include the deposed judges' issue in the charter, but no progress has been made so far. The Committee meeting headed by Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, which continued for more than four hours here Wednesday, has decided to continue the meeting today (Thursday) to further discuss the matters of deposed judges.
Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Senator Professor Khurshid Ahmed, Senator Abdur Rahim Mandokhel, Mir Hasal Bizenjo, former Senator Akram Shan and former MPA Jan Muhammad Buledi represented APDM in the meeting, while ARD was represented by Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, Senator Dr Safdar Abbasi, Naveed Malik and Abdul Qadir Khamosh.
The representatives of APDM and ARD thoroughly discussed the matter of ensuring free and fair elections, ending November 3 extra-constitutional actions and restoration of 1973 constitution to its 1999 position.
