Chicago Board of Trade rough rice settled higher on Tuesday on follow-through momentum from Monday's technical bounce and a lack of hedge-related pressure, traders said. Values fell to two-week lows on Monday before rallying and closing higher. Strength in Asian rice markets was also supportive.
Spreading was minimal, a factor that kept volume light. The CBOT estimated on Tuesday's rice volume at 477 rice futures and 66 options. Volume on Monday totalled 1,523 futures and two options.
