Federal government has asked the provincial governments of Punjab and Balochistan to forward their opinion and proposals for the draft "Constitutional Amendment Package" on the provincial autonomy. Governments of Sindh and NWFP have already furnished their proposals.
Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Co-ordination Dr Mohammad Amjad told Business Recorder here on Thursday that he was visiting the provincial headquarters and meeting chief executives of the provinces and other senior officers in a bid to get their input on the draft.
He said that during his meeting with the Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Sheikh Ejaz Nisar on Thursday, the latter assured him that the proposals would be submitted soon.
Dr Amjad earlier attended an Annual Meeting of the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association where Khawaja Mohammad Asad spelled out the problems the pharmaceutical industry is facing in export of their products while Dr Shehla Javed Akram and Nadeem Shami outlined other issues vis-à-vis pricing, packing, products registration and renewal process.
Dr Amjad asked the association Chairman Nadeem Shami to compile the problems being faced by the pharmaceutical industry so that their meeting could be arranged with the authorities concerned.
