An election tribunal headed by Syed Shahbaz Raza Rizvi of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has said a certificate issued from any institution or religious school not affiliated with the Wafaq-ul-Madaris will be invalid equivalent to MA and a candidate would be ineligible to contest the elections.
A returning officer had rejected nominations papers on the ground that the appellant had failed to produce any evidence showing affiliation with the Darul Aloom Mehmoodia Dhandi Azeemabad, Bannu with Wafaq-ul-Madaris.
The Higher Commission of Pakistan deputy director had verified from the record that the institution, which has issued the Sanad to the appellant is un- recognised Madrasa and any certificate issued by it is un-authorised and non-affiliated with Wifaq-ul-Madaris.
The court dismissing the appeal observed that the appellant contesting elections from Multan PP-206 is not graduate and nomination papers were rightly rejected by the returning officer.
