Polio eradication campaign concludes on December 14

The 3-day national polio-eradication campaign started from December 11 in 44 high-risk districts of Pakistan will end on Thursday (tomorrow). In this round, 14 million children less than five years of age have been given oral polio vaccine (OPV) in 44 selected districts of the four provinces.
During this campaign, type specific monovalent oral polio vaccine (mOPV1) have been given to all the targeted children. Overall 34,850 vaccination teams, 6500 area supervisors and 1040 zonal supervisors are participating in the campaign. The services of almost 800 campaign support personnel have been hired to support the districts in planning, implementation and monitoring of the campaign.
National and international monitors were also supervising the campaign throughout. A total of 16.5 million doses of mOPV1 have been provided to the selected 44 districts. According to the official sources all-important information regarding the activities would be provided to electronic and print media.
