Namaz-e-Eid-ul-Azha in Karachi will be offered at 3000 places and special security arrangements will be made at these and 100 other places. This was stated by caretaker Sindh Home Minister Brigadier Akhtar Zamin (Retd) while chairing an important meeting in relation to Eid-ul-Azha, Christmas and eve of new year.
The minister said that no one would be allowed to use loud speakers for collection of hides while those coercing people or snatching hides would be strictly dealt with. He hoped that parties and organisations collecting hides will strictly adhere to code of conduct as signed by them.
Brigadier Akhtar Zamin directed the senior police officers to take special security measures around shopping centers and markets and ensure the security of life and honour of people. The DIG Traffic was directed to make special parking arrangements at markets and shopping centers on the occasion of Eid and a comprehensive strategy be pursued to check traffic jams.
The minister pointed out that complaint centers are being set-up to check incidents of misbehaviour with ladies due to rush. He said Christmas is also an important festival and so is the new year. Pointing out that since all these occasions are coming at the same time, special arrangements are being made for law and order.
Regarding killing of notorious outlaw Mashooq Brohi, he said this would help reduce crimes in Karachi because he was also involved in serious crimes here as well. The Caretaker Home Minister asked the CPLC Chief to auction "Nazarat" vehicles as per rules. The meeting was attended by Home Secretary, Brigadier Ghulam Mohammed Mohtaram (Retd), CCPO Karachi Azhar Farooqui, Chief CPLC Sharfuddin Memon, DIG Traffic, EDO Transport and other senior police officers.
