Lahore High Court Chief Justice and 26 other Judges, including eight additional Judges, took oath under the 1973 Constitution in an impressive ceremony here at the Governor House on Saturday. Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool administered oath to Lahore High Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Hussain Chaudhry.
Caretaker Chief Minister Ejaz Nisar and provincial cabinet members and Chief Secretary Salman Siddique were also present. Justice Chaudhry later administered oath to other Judges, including additional Judges.
Those who took oath were Justices Mian Muhammad Najam uz Zaman, Naseem Sikandar, Muhammad Khalid Alvi, Sardar Muhammad Aslam, M Bilal Khan, Fazle Miran Chohan, Hamid Ali Shah, Tariq Saleem, Hasanat Ahmed Khan, Syed Asghar Hiader, Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah, Syed Shabbar Raza Rizvi, Sheikh Javed Sarfraz, Sheikh Hakim Ali, Muhammad Muzamal Khan, Abdul Shakoor Piracha, Maulvi Anwarul Haq and Syed Zahid Hussain.
The eight additional Judges who took oath were Justices Saifur Rehman, Ali Husain Rizvi, Khwaja Farooq Saeed, Khurshid Anwar Bhinder, M Akram Qureshi, Saghir Ahmed, Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry and Zubada tul Hussain.
