Five hundred fifty four security officials and civilian people have been killed and one thousand three hundred seventy four others injured in more than fifty terrorists attacks during the last eleven and half months in different parts of the country.
NNI in its report quoted Director General FIA Tariq Pervez who investigates the preliminary investigation as saying that most of the attacks were carried out by a same group and after investigation it shows that the explosive material explosive jeckets built in foreign factories were used. He said the hand of foreign countries could not be ruled out.
The report said out of twenty-one suicide attacks, thirteen attacks including explosive laden vehicles have been used against the convoys of security forces and military installations and ten against police force. It said majority of the attacks were carried out in NWFP and besides attacks against police and security forces, two attacks were carried out against former Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khanb Sherpao and one against Engineer Amir Maqam. Benazir Bhutto Karachi rally was targeted and the others at a mosque, against a mourning process in Peshawar and a school bus.
The other attacks which were carried out in different areas of the country include Dera Khazi Khan, Tank, Quetta, Islamabad, Kharian, Guliana Army Training Centre, Swat, Miran Shah, Bannnu, Ghazi, Mangora, Kamra, R.A. Bazar Rawalpindi, near GHQ and others.
