Only five female candidates are contesting general election-2008 from the district Faisalabad. Four of them belong to various political parties while one is an independent candidate.
According to the election data, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Ghareeb Party (PGP) have nominated Reheela Parveen and Mehwish Chaudhry advocate from NA-78 and NA-84 respectively, while Huma Batool is contesting from PP-52 on the ticket of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Similarly, Nazia Ghaffar Wahla will contest election on the ticket of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) from PP-61, whereas Sadia Azmat will participate in the general election as an independent candidate from PP-59. However, the data says that the PML-Q has not issued ticket to any female candidate from this district.
