I am very pleased to learn about the launching of Pak-China Investment Company. Pak-China ties have withstood the test of time. We are grateful to China having been associated with Pakistan's economic development now for decades.
Some of the projects completed with Chinese assistance include the Karakoram Highway, the Chasma-l nuclear power station, the Saindak copper mines development, Gwadar Deep Sea Port and Heavy Mechanical Complex.
In the defence field we have jointly developed the JF-17 fighter aircraft, while other Chinese defence products form a significant part of Pakistan's armoury, we are focused on improving Pak-China economic relations and to triple the quantum of trade from US $5 billion to US $15 billion in the next five years.
The launch of Pak-China Investment Company is another important milestone in economic relations as the company shall play the role of a catalyst in further promoting project cooperation particularly in the private sector. I congratulate the management of the company and wish them success in their endeavours.
