Site Association of Industry (SAI) Chairman, Imran Shaukat has said that continuity in economic policies after elections is important for sustainable growth of industrial sector. He was addressing a press conference at the association office here on Tuesday.
Former president, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI), Zubair Motiwala, who was also present at the press conference, said that post elections scenario was disturbing. "Business community predicts that it will be a hinged parliament. The elected government may not be able to deliver desired results," he added.
Replying to a question, he said that textile sector needed government's support and incentives to bring it out of crises and remain in export market. He said that Bangladesh, China and other competitors of Pakistani textile products in international markets were providing huge support to their industries. There is 30 percent difference in cost of production in Bangladesh and Pakistan, he added.
