Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Nisar Memon has said the government will adopt a string of measures to ensure that free, fair and transparent elections will be held and no political party will be allowed to use the state machinery in the election campaign.
"All political parties have provided a level playing field and the elections will be transparent."
He said this in a seminar organised by the Awami Forum on Wednesday. About the dissolution of local governments, he said these governments were part of the Constitution. "And now the Constitution is restored and the Provisional Constitution Order is repealed," he said.
On terrorism, he said, "Pakistan is facing two types of terrorism - one in the form of suicide bombers and the other in the form of the world propaganda, both weakening Pakistan and we will face both these challenges."
About the Pakistani nuclear assets, he said they were in safe hands. On the ban on channels, he said now almost all the channels were on the air and the remaining one or two channels would soon too join them and that negotiations were underway with them. Awami Forum Chairman Mian Abdul Ghafoor and Secretary Akram Dar were also present.
