Electoral roll DVDs handed over to parties: ECP

The Elections Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday said it has handed over the DVDs of electoral rolls of all the national and provincial Assemblies constituencies to the political parties.
A statement by EC Secretary Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad said a set of 272 DVDs of electoral rolls were handed over to the representatives of Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarians (PPP-P), Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) and Pakistan Muslim Leagu-Nawaz (PML-N).
Senator Latif Khan Khosa on behalf of PPP-P, Ghulam Mustafa Malik, Media Coordinator of PML-Q, and Ms Nuzhat Sadiq, president, Women Wing, PML-N, Islamabad, received the DVDs from the ECP secretary.
The sets of DVDs of the Computerised Electoral Rolls 2007 of the respective provinces/districts have also been dispatched from the Election Commission Secretariat to the Provincial Election Commissioners and all the Assistant Election Commissioners in the districts for onward supply to the contesting candidates on payment of Rs 200 per DVD. Thus the electoral rolls are now available to the wider audience, which will enhance the transparency of the electoral process.
