Durrani lashes out at PML-N

24 Dec, 2007

Former minister for information senator Muhammad Ali Durrani has said the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is advocating the politics of blame as the party is facing defeat in the general elections-2008. Talking to a private television, Durrani said the PML-N has lost its credibility among the masses and has no political strength on ground.
He said ground reality is that PML-N is trying to cover the upcoming defeat and embarrassment to the party in the elections by levelling allegations of rigging.
Durrani said Nawaz Sharif is foreseeing complete defeat in the polls as he was not given a warm welcome by the people on his arrival from Saudi Arabia after almost seven years exile. To a question he said PML-Q is confident of winning the elections on the basis of its five years performance.
Even, upto now he (Nawaz) could not visit any part of Sindh and Balochistan in mass contact campaign for the elections, he added. Till now, he said all stages of the election have been completed in a transparent manner and not a single party has expressed its concern over the process. In presence of free media and foreign observers from across the world there remains no question of rigging in the polls, he added.
