PCO judges revived doctrine of necessity: Munir Malik

Former President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Munir A. Malik has said that the judges, who took oath under PCO has revived the doctrine of necessity. In an interview with Voice of America, he said free and fair elections could not be held till the constitution of impartial election commission and restoration of deposed judges.
"In case of rigging of elections, on what door the political parties would knock", he questioned. To a question regarding non-hearing of reference against former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Munir A Malik rejected the blame and said it was based on personal allegations.
He said the lawyers' community is against the election. He said they have the flexibility as they are the attorney of every party including PPP, PML-N and even PML-Q. He said lawyers want to see the restoration of sacked judges.
