Passco's role lauded for improving wheat supply situation

Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro on Monday said that Passco has played a very significant role in improving the wheat supply situation in the country. He expressed the confidence that Passco would continue to serve with same dedication and commitment in future as well.
The Prime Minister was talking to Managing Director Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Supplies Corporation (PASSCO), Major General (r) Ahmed Saleem Mela, who called on him here at the PM House this morning. He said the timely releases of wheat by PASSCO in different parts of the country greatly helped to facilitate the supply of wheat and atta to the common people.
The Prime Minister gave approval in-principle for the construction of additional silos to store wheat in future for which, he said, the government would provide necessary funding. MD PASSCO briefed the Prime Minister on the overall role and performance of PASSCO as well as measures taken for handling the food security in the country.
