Minorities enjoy equal rights: Aurakzai

The Governor, NWFP, Lieutenant General Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai ((Retd) has said that minorities in Pakistan are an integral part of the nation and all of them enjoy equal rights, and opportunities for upward mobility and development, irrespective of colour, class and creed.
The governor in a Christmas message to felicitate the Christian community said, "It is gratifying to see that Christians in Pakistan are playing an important role in the socio-economic development of the country."
"I would like to offer my heartiest felicitations to the Christian community on the holy day of Christmas and wish the merciful day brings happiness and joy to each and every member of the community," he said.
Further, Aurakzai assured that minorities in Pakistan enjoy equal rights, and opportunities to mobilise country's socio-economic development. "I urge the affluent Christians should share their joy and happiness with the poor and less affluent members of their community in accordance with the spirit and message of the Holy Bible," he said.
