Pakistan Workers Federation (PWF) has organised a meeting to commemorate 131st birthday of Founder of Nation Quaid-e-Azam here on Tuesday. They paid rich tribute to Quaid-e-Azam for liberation movement and declared that he stood for establishing an egalitarian society based upon Islamic welfare democratic state ensuring social justice and dignity of working man and woman.
"That was why he accepted the presidency of Postal Union prior independence to defend and promote their economic and social and trade union rights," they added.
The meeting was addressed by Chaudhry Talib Nawaz, PWF President, Khurshid Ahmed, PWF General Secretary, Osama Tariq, PWF Deputy General Secretary, Malik Noor Muhammad, Deputy Chairman of Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union C B A, Hassan Munir Bhatti, Chaudhry Noor Muhammad, Ejaz-ul-Haq Siddiqui and others.
The house by a resolution declared that the working class of Pakistan would continue to make success of their struggle against the exploitative forces, abolishing feudalism and promote respect for the fundamental rights of freedom of press.
They also declared struggle for the independence of judiciary and abolishing anti-labour laws against the principle of freedom of association. They urged patriotic forces to unify their struggle in order to get relieved the poor masses from economic and social deprivation, abject poverty, aggravating unemployment, and skyrocketing price hike of essential commodity and ensuring education to each child.
