Army shifts stranded train passengers

On the directive of General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General Abdul Aziz Tariq, the army troops early Saturday morning shifted around 400 passengers of Karachi bound Awam Express from village Jalal Mari to Hyderabad, ISPR sources said.
It may be mentioned here that Awam Express was halted at Kalal Mari Railway Station between Tando Adam and Shahadpur on the night of December 27 following violence that erupted after the death of PPP chief Benazir Bhutto. The GOC issued directive for shifting of 1,200 stranded passengers of Awam Express.
