02 Jan, 2008

Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has flatly rejected the medical report issued by the Interior Ministry claiming that Benazir Bhutto had died due to injury by an iron lock of her vehicle's sunroof, not by the shooting of suicide bomber.
The President of PMA Dr Zahid Mohayuddin on Tuesday disclosed this in his speech during a protest, which was organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association in collaboration with PMA.
Ruling out the cause of death of Benazir Bhutto mentioned by the government's medical report, he demanded President Pervez Musharraf to resign and urged the government to form a medical board, which should comprise of members of British Medical Association, adding that his association and international forensic experts will determine the case in a transparent manner.
Accusing the President Musharraf Bar representative Ghulam Ali Bhatti said that he attacked the judiciary and then imposed curbs on media to kill media freedom to expose the truth and now also responsible for the Bhutto murder that is the attack on democracy. "Our struggle will continue till the restoration of judges and independence of the media," he added. Former association president DrYasmin Rashid was also present.
