Muharram-ul-Haram: central control room to monitor processions

Lahore District Nazim Mian Amir has said that his government has made central control room in Nasir Bagh to be operative from 1st Muharram and its contact number is 139, which is a part of measures to maintain the religious harmony and law and order.
The Nazim chairing a meeting also said that official of the police, the Water and Power Development and the Water and Sanitation Authorities, the Sui gas, Rescue 122 and the Civil Defence Department would be on a 24-hour duty to monitor the Muharram processions. They also offered Fateha for assassinated former premier Benazir Bhutto and others.
The Nazim also ordered his town administration to install lights and complete the patch works on routes of Muharram processions. The meeting then proposed special parking arrangements for mourners near Nisar Haveli. Those who also attended were CPO, officials from Wapda, PTCL, EDOs and central Muharram procession organiser Agha Shah Hussain Qazalbash.
