Campaign against traffic laws' violation

Caretaker Sindh Home Minister Brigadier Akhtar Zamin (Retd) has directed the traffic police throughout the Province to take strict action against those using tinted glasses, revolving lights and hooters without permission of competent authority.
He called for gearing up the ongoing drive against such offenders and said they should be challaned and punished as per traffic law. The minister said that there is always apprehension that saboteurs might take advantage of such vehicles.
He said that so far 17,368 such vehicles have been challaned all over Sindh including 12,183 in Karachi, 3125 in Hyderabad and 2060 in Sukkur Regions. He said that during the province-wide drive, blue-revolving lights of 1015 vehicles seized including 96 in Karachi, 81 in Hyderabad and 838 in Sukkur Regions. Besides, 1979 hooters were also confiscated including 174 in Karachi, 1072 in Hyderabad and 733 in Sukkur Regions.
