Muslim Tajir Ittehad and Lahore Retailers and General Merchants Association (LRGMA) have termed killing of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto as a national tragedy depriving the country from a great political leader. These views were expressed at a joint meeting of these associations held with its Chairman Rao Muhammad Akram Khan in the chair.
The meeting also urged the government to assess the damage caused to the traders across the country in the riots erupted after killing of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. The meeting said that the government should compensate the traders after immediate assessment of the loss.
The meeting also termed the loss as a result of inefficiency of the government and demanded setting up of a government of national consensus, restoration of the judiciary and freeing media from all curbs.
