FAP urges government to include Jhang district in BRI

Farmers Associates Pakistan (FAP) has urged Punjab government to include district of Jhang in the jurisdiction of recently set up Buffalo Research Institute (BRI).
The demand was raised at an executive committee meeting of the Farmers Associates Pakistan here Wednesday, which observed that Jhang had more buffalo population than rest of the seven districts already attached with this project. The establishment of Semen Research and Development Institution at Jhang has been delayed by two years due to bureaucratic snags, the meeting alleged.
Farmers Associates Pakistan noted that there are 28,455 heads of buffaloes and 25,552 heads of cows in Pakistan and country get 31.246 billion litre milk annually from them, which ranks Pakistan as the 5th largest country in the world in milk production. Farmers Associates Pakistan (FAP) urged caretaker Minister of Livestock and Dairy Development for the acceptance of their just demand.
