Seven outlaws held, six cars recovered

Rawalpindi police have busted two gangs of criminals and arrested seven outlaws besides and also recovered total six cars, 20 mobile phones, 5 pistols, 3 knives and 100 rounds from their possession.
"After receiving a number of complaints of car and mobile snatching in the different areas, the City Police Officer constituted special teams to trace the criminals and these teams hold massive hunt of the criminals and succeeded in wiping out these two gangs", said Yaseen Farooq, SSP Operations here on Thursday.
He was addressing a press conference at R A Bazar Police Station. Recovered cars and other commodities were put on display during the conference. He added that teams for massive hunt of the criminals were formed with DSP Cantt Rana Shahid. These teams used all out efforts and energies and succeeded in tracing two gangs namely Rehan gang and Ehsan gang.
He said that first gang was involved in 14 car snatching incidents and four members of this 5-member gang, including Rehan son of Muhammad Haneef, Usman Ali son of Farzand Ali of Chohar Chowk, Mumtaz Ahmed of Malpur Islamabad and Irfan Ali of Gujrat were arrested while Shahzad son of Akbar, Chohar Chowk succeeded in absconding.
SSP operation told reporters that during the course of investigation three Suzuki Mehran cars, one Toyota Corolla car, 16 mobile phones, four pistols, one knife and 70 bullets were recovered from these outlaws.
"They have admitted that they were snatching cars and using these cars for looting people and operating around Faizabad area," he said, adding that three of the detained outlaws, including Rehan, Mumtaz and Irfan have been released from Adiala Jail after they all completed three-year term in jail.
He said that three members of another gang, including Ehsan Ahmed of Baraf Khana Chowk, Tahir Mehboob of Chamanabad and Abdul Qayyum of Jatli Rawalpindi were arrested and two Suzuki Mehran cars, four mobile phones, one pistol, two knives and 30 bullets were recovered from their possession.
He said that the outlaw Ehsan was wanted to R A Bazar Police in murder he committed in July 2007 and an attempt to murder in July 2002. He said that the outlaws are being interrogated to get more information from them.
