Kashmiris to observe right of self-determination day on January 5

04 Jan, 2008

The Kashmiris across the Line of Control (LoC) and all over the world will observe January 5, Saturday as the day of "right of self-determination". Kashmiris observe the day to remind UN and international community of their mandatory and obligatory role for the fulfilment of its commitment regarding the implementation of UNSC adopted resolutions on Kashmir.
The resolutions adopted in 1949 gave Kashmiris the choice to decide their fate and future under UN supervised plebiscite. To mark the significance of the day protest rallies and demonstrations will be held in all the seven districts of AJK and various parts of Pakistan and abroad where the Kashmiri expatriates are settled.
